Britain and Ireland Bucket List

In just around a month’s time our students studying abroad in Britain, Ireland, Wales, and Scotland will touch down and begin their journeys. So, just as we did for the incoming South African students, we at Interstudy have constructed a new ‘Road Less Traveled’ Bucket List, this time focusing on the UK/Ireland region.

From music festivals, to carnivals, to delicious food, this list will ensure our students’ full immersion into this historic region. Again, this is a rough list highlighting just a fraction of what this part of the world has to offer. Definitely try to check off everything on this bucket list, but be sure to add more for yourselves. Cheers!

South Africa Tweets

South Africa has been recognized as one of the top tweeting countries, worldwide! According to a study, there are twice as many tweets as there are people in the country during the last 3 months. That’s a lot of tweeting, twittering, tweeping, or whatever you choose to call it. The study, called “How Africa Tweets,” was conducted by two companies — Kenya-based Portland Communications and Britain-based Tweetminster.

If you’re planning on studying in South Africa with Interstudy, start paying attention to the world of Twitter to see what’s going on in country. Follow Interstudy at @interstudysa and also search #SouthAfrica.

LGBT Resources

A new resource is available on the interstudy website for more information about LGBT programs abroad. We’ve identified some links and resources for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered students traveling to our programs in Britain, Ireland, South Africa and Botswana. Through these links, we hope you find a resource guide to better understand the benefits and challenges of the culture in which you will be studying, traveling, and living. The knowledge you gain here should help you have a rewarding and safe international experience.

2010 has started off strong here at interstudy. And by strong, I mean busy!

We love to see prospective and past students at these fairs! This week, Erin is in Washington state, and Katie is in Pennsylvania. Read more
